I broke the yarn and I'm happy with it. I'm still considering the outcome to be serendipitous, although slightly controlled. There were several layers of black still on the ball and I had already added about a foot of black to the scarf, so I broke it coming out of black and took off a few yards. Same thing as I was coming out of the dark grey, broke it again and took of several yards. I decided I'll do it at least one more time in the white, I will make less white since I don't like it anyway. Also helped momma drag all her Christmas stuff upstairs. I had fun knitting and listening to her sing to herself as she tried to organize it all. There's no way to help her in this instance, she's a crazy person.
